I don't see Catalog Tools in my Gateway menu. How do I get access?
Catalog Tools must be enabled for your organization. Contact your admin or account manager to turn on the Item Grouping feature flag for your account.
Can one product belong to multiple groups?
Yes. A single SKU can be associated with as many groups as needed. For example, a shingle product might belong to both a "Premium Shingles" group and a "CertainTeed Products" group.
What happens if I archive a group that is already used in a quote?
Archiving a group does not affect previously submitted quotes. The historical reference is preserved. The group will simply no longer be available for new quotes.
Can I submit a quote with an unresolved group placeholder?
No. Every group placeholder on a quote must be resolved to a specific SKU before the quote can be submitted. This prevents generic placeholders from appearing on purchase orders.
How do I find a specific group quickly?
Use the search bar on the Item Grouping tab. It searches by group name and is case-insensitive. You can also add search keywords when creating a group to make it easier to find later.
Can I restore a group after archiving it?
Yes. Switch to the Archived view on the Item Grouping tab, find the group, and select Restore from the actions menu. The group will return to the active list.
Does editing a group affect existing quotes?
No. Changes to a group (adding or removing products, renaming) only affect future uses. Previously submitted quotes are not modified.
Who do I contact for help?
Reach out to your account manager or submit a support request through the Gateway Portal.
